NetNewsWire 2.0

After not being able to talk about this for ages I can finally say NetNewsWire 2.0 rocks. Tonight Brent released the beta of NetNewsWire 2.0. I've been using betas for the past few months and he's been doing a pretty kickass job. You can check out the What's New page, read the Change Notes, or just go and Download it.

What do you like about NetNewsWire 2.0 as opposed to Bloglines?

I see them as kind of being two different beasts. I mostly use bloglines to power my blogroll. If I didn't use NNW I'd probably use Bloglines for my rss reading. A few of the things I like from NNW:
- easy to flag things to post about later
- 'smart' lists (ie, show me any posts that have the string 'foo' in them)
- 'special' subscriptions. You can create a subscription that's the results of searching for a string on feedster or daypop. Very handy if you are tracking a certain topic (I have one searching for pulmonary fibrosis news).
- support for various blogging clients. If I see a post I like I can just click a button and it passes that post off to ecto.

How's that? :)
