Life - Spun Chronologically
DJing has become an increasingly important part of my life. There is nothing quite like the feeling of playing out at a club or a rave and knowing that you're bringing the people there together. It is incredibly powerful.
I started spinning a few years ago. It was something I've wanted to do since the late 80s when I first started clubbing. Back then I didn't have much exposure to DJs mixing tracks together. Just the thought of being able to play music that got people dancing was wonderful to me (probably because I loved to dance). I'd even put together tapes of music that I loved to send to friends all the time. Then I went to my first rave and was hooked. Watching the DJ seamlessly mix together songs just blew my mind.
Seven years later I bought my first turntables and a mixer. My world has never been the same. Once I got down the concept of beatmatching it started to become a way for me to unwind after a long day at work. Then I played in front of people for the first time. It was scary and intense and I was exhausted by the end of it. It was also one of the most amazing moments in my life. I wanted more.
Since then I've played around Boston at random gigs. Played at this amazing outlaw party under an overpass that just blew my mind. And of course, played on the beach under the stars. Who knows what the future will bring.
What do I play? A bit of this and a bit of that. I started off as a trance DJ, but as time went on I found I was liking the deep tech house sound a lot. Which got me also listening to house and techno. Now I play whatever fits my mood or the situation. I'm much happier that way.
Below are records that I'm searching for, hoping to find someday.

Boogie Deluxe - Don't Stop Till You Get Enough - ??
