Kiddy Grade

Since I couldn't sleep well I decided to take in another episode of Kiddy Grade. This is a curious show to me. I really didn't like the first episode, that much. But, I'd downloaded the first four so figured I should check them out. I found as I was watching more and more of the show I was starting to enjoy it a bit more. I'm still not sure that it is a really good show, but I keep getting the feeling that they are really taking their time telling a bigger story.
Kiddy Grade is about two agents in an organization called GOTT. They are both teenagers, as most of the agents seem to be. The first is a kind of super-hacker, she seems to have the ability to hack a computer by just touching it or the wall right by it. The other just has stregth and speed and is a fighter. There have been hints that she's some kind of cyborg, but we still haven't gotten the full details on her abilities. The show itself is feels like pretty standard action stuff, with bits of humor added here and there. And the supporting cast has been quite interesting.
This show had much hype surrounding it, being a GONZO show. I was pretty disappointed with the show after the first episode and remember going "This is it?" Most of the reviews I read online were quite similar. Now, after seeing episode 8 I want to go back and rewatch it from the beginning while waiting for the next episode to be released. With each episode I like this show a little bit more. There definitely seems to be some kind of overall story that is slowly taking shape, so this show may end up completely surprising me and getting a much better review by the end of it. We'll definitely keep watching to see what happens next.

I agree. As the whole story unfolds, it much more than a simple eyecandy flick. Gonzo hasn't disappointed me before and this is no exception. Everyone! TRUST me when i say, you will miss out on something quite quite fun if you just judge this anime on the first few episodes. The further i go into this anime, the more i go back to the first episode and re-watch it from the beginning. It truly is that complex of a story with hints that you'd normally dimiss the first time you watch this.

NO way in hell can you miss out on this one. Kiddy Grade is a really good anime. The father you go the more it catches your attention. It's something that I am starting to get addicted on. I watched about 15 episodes and I must say that te first few episodes are bad, horrible maybe, but it does get better, much bettter.

I have to agree with the above, the first few eps were pritty dire. then came ep 8. which completly changed the series. folling that was ep 11. THE GREAST EP OF ANY ANIME I HAVE EVER SEEN (imo). Now we are up to ep 16, and it just keeps getting better. i can't wait for act 2 to get into motion (only 8 eps left :'( )

AND, next time it airs (on the 25th I believe), we'll be getting two episodes at once. Though the wait SUCKS.

I agree with all of you. When I first started watching this series I was instantly hooked. But when I went searching for information on it all I could find was bad reviews! Kiddy Grade definitely deserves a second glance by certain critics! I recently created a site for KG; go take a look. ^.^

I picked up volume 1 of this anime. I am one of those rare breed that will watch practically anything if its good enough or funny enough, and Kiddy Grade honestly entertained me. I rewatched the first disc a few itmes already, and I preordered hte second. Unlike osme, I do not watch just one or two episodes and swear off an anime, I watch at least half of it. I have yet to find anything other than Furi kuri that I havent completely loved though. Im really notp icky. that said I think that while the plot isnt deep enough yet (and may never be) to exercise my brain like Noir and Haibasne renmei did to me, it is nonetheless a fun amnime to watch and I dont mind the fanservice, though seeing a 12 year old with such an evocative uniform is a mite disturbing. I know Kiddy grade means nothing more than the level of training the two have had, but they could have easilyp icked a less pedophilic sounding name. All in all I rate it 8/10 from the first disc. I also like shallow shows, like Galaxy angel and Trouble chocolate, so Im not that tough on anime really.
