Witch Hunter Robin

One of my favorite shows of recent past, Witch Hunter Robin, is coming to DVD. The folks over at Bandai have put up a swanky website to promote it. Warning, it's a very flash heavy site.

One thing on that site, anime companies do *not* know how to make good trailers. I'm just trying to figure out if it's because they don't do it like movie trailers or if they're trying to be too much like the movie trailers. They use a lot of the same annoying shots (like the quick-cuts at the end) but it doesn't capture my attention like a movie trailer.

I mean, I already like WHR and the trailer bores me. ADV and Tokyopop have similar problems, too.

I'd have to disagree with you about ADV -- they have some really dynamic trailers, even if they do heavily re-use the show's footage. They're a sight better than Pioneer's trailers, which suffer from ostentatious-narrator-voice syndrome, or Bandai's, which often end up being pretty indecipherable.
