The price of MicroSoft
Dan Mitchell's Radio Weblog has A Question for MicroSoft. This is something I've run into myself recently. Office X for OS X costs around $4-500 dollars IIRC. A friend of mine told me that you can only have run copy running at a time. It can detect the serial number of other versions running on the same local network. I have two computers in my apartment, so does this mean I need two copies?

The flip side to all this is that officially, it has always been the case that if you have a household with three computers being used by three different people you have three copies. Most software licenses are written this way. The problem is that up until recently most home software didn't care if you installed it on more then one machine. I'm wondering if people will just stop upgrading as often because of this.
