Voices from the Past
Last night at around 9:30ish, the phone rang. Not my cell phone, the real wired one. Most of the time I never answer this phone because it is telemarketers. This is the number I give out when I register software, fill out a form somewhere, etc. It has messages on the voicemail that I've never even listened to probably. But when someone calls after 9 it usually means that it is someone who doesn't have my cell phone number and is someone I know well.
I pick up the phone and find my ex-girlfriend on the line. She just got back into the country from teaching overseas and wanted to say 'Hi'. It was pretty cool, we talked for a while and started getting caught up. I'm really glad that we still keep in touch to some level because she really does know me better then just about everyone else. We're going to try and do dinner or something after the holidays. But I may see if she's going to be around before then since I had already been thinking about driving down to RI to hit the mall to do some Christmas shopping.
