The Golden Compass
I just finished The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. It was really good. I enjoyed it much more then the last book I read. The story was wonderful. It follows the adventures of Lyra Belacqua on her journey to find her uncle. It takes place in a world much like ours, but with some major exceptions. The biggest of which is that every person has their own personal daemon. It's a familiar that is always with them and can change into different animal forms.
I really enjoyed Philip Pullman's writing and am planning on picking up the other two books in the trilogy soon. I want to get all the ones from this printing so they'll match :)
