Some hope for american cartoons

I had been waiting for Warner Brothers to re-release Batman Beyond - Return of the Joker. When they first released it on DVD they'd made a number of edits to make it more 'kid friendly'. Needless to say, people were upset.

Friday I saw that it had finally come out and decided to pick up a copy. I watched it this morning and I have to say it's quite good. It's features like this that give me hope for american animation. For the record, I think there actually is a lot of good american animation, but there still tends to be the feeling that cartoons are for kids. So you don't have a lot of animated featues targetted at an older audience.
