Cartoon Network Unofficial Announcement?

So, I guess that last night the promo cards during Adult Swim said the following at some point:

A new anime is coming your way

It's only six episodes long.

But it's shockingly great.

Like Bebop

Big O

and Beef Logs

[adult swim]

Hmmmm... I wonder...could it be?

Thoughts on The Animatrix

I just got done watching The Animatrix. Overall I thought the animatrion was really good, some of it breathtaking. Music was also pretty good throughout. Even the stories were interesting for the most part. But, something felt missing. I haven't seen the movie yet (hopefully tomorrow or monday), but I don't think that should make a big difference. I guess with all the hype I had been expecting to be wowed more. On the other hand, I do think it may help to expose more people to animation and show that it isn't just for kids. It's definitely worth a rental to see if you like it.

Kaze no Yojimbo 1 and Kasumin 1

If the past few weeks I sampled two shows I hadn't seen before, Kaze no Yojimbo and Kasumin. I enjoyed both of them, but I think I liked Kasumin a little bit more for its wackiness. Hopefully I'll get to see more of this one (though I want to see more of both).

The first episode Kaze no Yojimbo doesn't really tell us much. The main character arrives by train in a small town looking for someone to ask him a question. Beyond that, not a lot happens. He gets involved with some fights and seems to be quite skilled in hand to hand combat. The animation is really nice also. It almost reminds me of something like Bebop or RahXephon in the look, though not quite as bright. This one I'm really going to have to see a few more before I decide fully what I think of it.

Kasumin is just about the completely opposite of Kaze no Yojimbo. It is a kids show. It's insanely cute. It's about Kasumi, a young girl whose parents are going away for the year. While they're away she'll be staying with some friends of her parents, who end up being very strange magical beings. I honestly don't think anything I can say can do justice to how bizzare some of this show was to me. But I loved it, the talking washcloth rules.

a-kon g00dness =^^=

**cat's meow**
not too much from a-kon, but enough good new liscencing news to make this k-chan happier, especially the news that PanyPanyo DiGi Charat has been liscenced by adv. i've seen some and it was ok, but i'm hoping that with PPDC liscenced, the first season and the Best imo season of DiGi Charat will be liscenced.
also of note is Bandai's liscence of Future GPX Cyber Formula. i've heard of this anime before.... gonna have to research...it's the tv only that they liscenced.
the title liscence announcement that definitely gained the most !squealage! from me was pioneer and Last Exile. w00t! XD they also have Mao-chan which is ultra ultra cute. if they package and price it right, i'll probly get it.

ok, it's not anime, but who can forget the She-Ra movie and the She-Ra tv series ^_^

shockingly enough, manga actually did a g00d job on the Read or Die dvd. i can now enjoy my Yomiko in both r2 and r1 *sparkles*
and of course, i could ramble on endlessly about how HAPPY i am that FUNi has liscenced Kiddy Grade. considering the title itself, i definitely see KG getting the FruBa like treatment, which reminds me i have FruBa dvds 3 & 4 to watch :D since i just finished Saint Tail last night, i can do that now ^^
